OSTROFF, Maurice. B. Sc., B. Sc. (Enq.) (Rand) Grad. (S.A.), I.E.E., A.I.Co.S. (S.A.). Company Director and Engineer. Born Johannesburg 22nd February, 1925, son of Rachael Frieda Leiman and the late Solomon Ostroff. Educated at Hillel College, Johannesburg Technical High School and Trades School and University of Witwatersrand. During World War II saw service with Special Signals Services of S.A. Corps of Signals. Served with Mahal in Israel during War of Independence at Weizmann Institute and subsequently as Radar Station Commander. Director of General Plumbing Supplies (1956) (Pty) Ltd. and E.T.P. (Pty.) Ltd. Member of Board of Trade Liaison Committee, Legislation Committee and Conditions of Contract Committee of Association of Chambers of Commerce of South Africa. Member of Council of Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce. Past Adjutant, Pullthrough Shellhole (M.O.T.H.) Recreations: Ham radio, journalism, journalism, swimming. Married Marcia Ruth Cohen (granddaughter of Rhodesian Pioneer Lazar Natkin); two daughters, one son. Add.: 6, Methwold Road, Saxonwold, Johannesburg.
