Former Lecturer in Economics at Witwatersrand University and Cape Town University. Served on staff of S.A. Trade Commissioner in London 1922-1925. Executive member, S.A. Jewish Board of Education, 1927-1939. Member of Board of Directors, "Zionist Record," during the 1930's. Member of Public Relations Committee, Council of Natal Jewry, 1954-62. Member of Natal Jewish Education Council 1954-62. During World War II was Senior Information Officer attached to S.A.A.F., with the rank of Captain; served at Zwartkops Air Station and with 28 S.A. Squadron at Algiers and as Staff Officer at S.A.A.F. headquarters in Bari, Rome and Cairo. Married 1925, wife's name Dora; two daughters. Recreation: Bowls (previously cricket; received full colours at London University, 1923; played first league cricket in Cape Town, Bloemfontein and Johannesburg).
