PODBREY, Joseph. Printer and Publisher. Born Lithuania 7th October, 1923, son of Boris and Helen Podbrey. Came to South Africa 1933. Educated at Glenwood High School, Durban. Editor "Mafeking Mail" and "Botswana Guardian". Managing Director, Mafeking Mail (Pty.) Ltd. and Botswana Press (Pty) Ltd. Participated in Yiddish Theatre. Served with the South African Air Force during World War II, 1940-45. Member, Mafeking Club. Recreations: Tennis writing and translating Afrikaans and Yiddish poetry. Publications: "A.
