Educated in the Ukraine (Cheder), Cape Town (Hebrew Public School and S.A.C.S.), Pretoria (Transvaal University College). Member, Pretoria City School Board. 1924-49. Past Chairman, Pretoria Zionist Association, Pretoria Ozrei Zion, Miriam Marks Talmud Torah Board, Pretoria Hebrew Congregation, Otto Warburg Lodge (Hebrew Order of David), Pretoria Jewish Community Council; Connaught Lodge of Freemasons; R.A. Chapter, and Pretoria Horticultural Society (20 years), National War Memorial Health Foundation (Northern Transvaal). During World War I served on Pretoria V.C.T.A. (and Executive Committee), and saw service in German East Africa. During World War II was a member of the National Volunteer Brigade, Pretoria (and Executive Committee). Married Fanny Leibman, 1918; two sons (one killed in action in Italy in World War II), two daughters. Add.: 24, Duxbury Road, Hillcrest, P.O. Box 294, Pretoria.
