Educated in Russia, Hebrew Public School, Cape Town, and S.A.C.S. Came to South Africa in 1900. Articled to Lapin and Lapin in 1905; Extra Mural Law Classes, T.U.C., Pretoria; commenced practice in 1909; joined by M. S. Nicolson (present Town Clerk, Pretoria) in 1913. Married in 1918 to Fanny Leibman, Pretoria: has two children. Member Pretoria School Board and Juvenile Affairs Board; President, Pretoria Hebrew Congregation; ex-President, Zionist Society, Hebrew Order of David; taken keen interest in football, tennis and bowls. Educated in the Ukraine (Cheder), Cape Town (Hebrew Public School and S.A.C.S.), Pretoria (Transvaal University College). Member, Pretoria City School Board. 1924-49. Past Chairman, Pretoria Zionist Association, Pretoria Ozrei Zion, Miriam Marks Talmud Torah Board, Pretoria Hebrew Congregation, Otto Warburg Lodge (Hebrew Order of David), Pretoria Jewish Community Council; Connaught Lodge of Freemasons; R.A. Chapter, and Pretoria Horticultural Society (20 years), National War Memorial Health Foundation (Northern Transvaal). During World War I served on Pretoria V.C.T.A. (and Executive Committee), and saw service in German East Africa. During World War II was a member of the National Volunteer Brigade, Pretoria (and Executive Committee).
