Educated in Hebrew and Russian Schools and through private studies in South Africa and at Michaelis School of Art (University of Cape Town). Obtained Teacher's Diploma at Old School of Art. Member, Sea Point Hebrew Congregation and other Jewish local institutions. During World War II served in the Cape Town Police Reserve and National Volunteer Reserve. Member, Keurboom Sports Club.
