Retired 1963 as Company Director of Kolnick Stores, Port Elizabeth, after 28 years' association with the business. Co-Vice-Chairman, Eastern Cape Zionist Council; Chairman of Zionist Revisionist Party in Eastern Province for past nine years. Foundation member, Wedgwood Park Country Club, and former Secretary of its Bowls and Selection Committees. Committee member, Port Elizabeth and District Bowling Association. Life member of Maccabi, and active member of its E.P. Committee. Past Master, Freemason Lodge. Active life member of numerous local communal, sporting and social clubs. Served in South African Forces at beginning of World War II; discharged for medical reasons. Married Esther Ruttenberg, 1945; two sons, one daughter. Recreations: Reading, gardening, sports, bridge.
