KRIEL, Isaac Jack. Ph.D. (Education), M.Ed. (Cum Laude) (Rand), B.A. (Hons.) (S. A.). Educationist. Born Johannesburg 17th May, 1926, son of Eliahu and Helena Kriel. Educated at Bethlehem High School, O.F.S., University of South Africa and University of the Witwatersrand. Director and Principal of Damelin Colleges (Pty.) Ltd., Damelin Institute of Professional Studies (Pty) Ltd., Institute of Professional Management (Pty) Ltd., Work Holdings (Pty.) Ltd. Previously journalist (was columnist for "S.A. Jewish Times"; reporter, "Sunday Express"; reporter, "Zionist Record." Lecturer in English, Afrikaans, History. Ph.D. based on a comparative study of standards in English and the teaching of English in Johannesburg, South Africa, and Birmingham, United Kingdom; wrote M.Ed. thesis on problems of teaching Afrikaans as a second language; is an authority on Shakespeare (his private library includes over 1,000 works on Shakespeare); and is a well-known collector of South African art and European lithographs.
