KUPERBERG, David B. Minister and Cantor. Born Bialystok, Poland; son of Samuel and Hayar Kuperberg. Educated at Yeshiva College, Bialystok, and School of Cantors and Jewish Musical Institute, Wilno, Poland. Came to South Africa 1934. Cantor and Minister to the Paarl Hebrew Congregation. Was First Cantor in Pinsk and Grodno, Poland. Cantor-Minister to United Hebrew Congregation, Durban, 1934-43; Cantor-Minister to United Hebrew Institutions, Bloemfontein, 1944-1963. Past Chairman, Jewish Cultural Circle, Bloemfontein; Past Chairman, Menorah Chess Club, Bloemfontein (1953- 1958). Married Miriam Leah Levin, 21st August, 1933; two sons, one daughter.
