LEEB, Elias. Retired Accountant. Born Lithuania 20th January, 1878, son of Aaron Behr and Yente Malke Leeb. Educated in Popelan, Lithuania. Came to South Africa 1893. Was Accountant for Crystal Confectionery Co. Ltd. and Coal Cartage Co. Ltd. Previously proprietor of Ostrich Feather Co., Cape Town. During residence in Middelburg, C.P., was Hon. Secretary, Middelburg Hebrew Congregation and Zionist Association. During Boer War was attached to Col. Munro's Column as a transport conductor. Married Ethel Kahan, 1906; one son, two daughters.
