Educated at Lwow University, Poland; Post-Graduate studies in Berlin, Germany. Came to South Africa 1941. Proprietor of Kallir & Co., Manufacturing Chemists, Cape Town. Was technical director and partner in chemical factory, A. Willenz & Co., Dziedzice, Polish Silesia, 1928-39. Was Chief Chemist, African Organic Fertilizers Ltd., 1945-46; Managing Director, Eka Laboratories (Pty) Ltd., Cape, 1946-52. Research activities: photochemistry of saturated gaseous hydrocarbons, 1925-28; technology of fats, waxes, oils and bitumens, 1928-29; technology of natural resins, 1929-39; research on South African sea fishes, 1941-44; study of lucerne as source of protein and vitamins, 1945; study of bone meal for human use, as source of minerals and trace elements in the prevention of dental decay, 1946-49. Member of the Pharmaceutical Society of South Africa and South African Chemical Institute. Member, AMORC, San Jose, California; Subud, Cape Town, Contract Bridge Club, Cape Town.
