KATZ, Myer Ellis. B.A., B.Ed. School Principal. Born Lithuania 18th September, 1917, son of Moses Saul and Sara Rosa Katz. Came to South Africa 1926. Educated at Cape Town High School, Cape Town Talmud Torah and University of Cape Town. Principal, Herzlia High School, Cape Town, since 1955. Chairman, Zionist-Revisionist Organisation (W.P. Branch) 1952-54; Member, Western Province Zionist Council and Associated Committees since early 1950's; member of Mowbray Synagogue Committee since 1959. Member of Hillpark Bowling Club. During World War II, served in East and North Africa with S.A. Infantry Brigade, 1940-43. Co-author of several school text-books in social studies. Married Freda Bloch, 18th April, 1943; three sons, one daughter. Add.: 10 De Villiers Avenue, Mowbray, Cape Town.
