KATZEFF, Dave. Director of Companies. Born Simonstown, 13th August, 1907: son of William and Rachel Leah Katzeff. Educated at Simonstown Secondary School and Wynberg Boys' High School. Managing Director of Katzeff Agencies (Pty.) Ltd., Pretoria; Director of Dik Investments (Pty.) Ltd. Vice-President, Pretoria Progressive Jewish Congregation 1958-60; President, 1960-1963. Vice-Chairman, S.A. Union for Progressive Judaism, 1962-66; National Chairman, 1966/7, and Union's Deputy to S.A. Jewish Board of Deputies. Member of the Chaplaincy Committee of the S.A. Jewish Board of Deputies. Served with the South African Forces in World War II, Transvaal Scottish Regiment, 1940- 1945; taken P.O.W. in North Africa 1942, in camps in Italy and Germany 1942-1945. Member of the Transvaal Scottish Association; S.A. Jewish Ex-Service League, M.O.T.H. Executive. Edited "The Observer", P.O.W. newspaper while in German P.O.W. camp; this was reproduced in S.A. 1947 and published by C.N.A. for S.A. Ex-Service Organisations and Regimental Associations.
