Vice-President of the South African Institute of Refrigeration. Vice-Chairman, S.A. Food Science and Technology Association. Chairman of the Stellenbosch Hebrew Congregation, 1963-1964. S.A. delegate, International Institute of Refrigeration Conference Copenhagen, 1959, Munich, 1963 and Madrid 1967, where he read papers. Invited to Instituut vor Bewaring en Verwerking van Tuinbouwprodukten (I.B.V.T.) 25th Anniversary held at Wapeningen, Netherlands, and delivered papers on scald and breakdown in S.A. apples. Married Miriam Rosenstein, 1949; one son, two daughters, Add.: 32, Rowan Street, Stellenbosch.
