Past President of Cape Town Junior Chamber of Commerce; former executive member, Cape Town Chamber of Commerce; former Hon. Secretary, Salt River Retail Traders' Association. Chairman of the Fund Raising Committee of the Magen David Adom and Assistant Chairman of the Fund Raising Committee of the Israeli Maritime League. Was member of Clovelly Country Club and Bergvliet Sports Club. Took an active part in the Jewish National Boys' Club movement in Great Britain. Served with His Majesty's Forces during the Second World War and attained the rank of Sergeant in Royal Army Medical Corps. Married 1960, wife's name Joan; one daughter.
