Past Secretary, Jeppestown Hebrew Congregation, 1916-17; past Secretary, Jeppestown Hebrew School, 1916-19; Executive member, Jewish War Victims' Fund, 1916-18. Member of "Arcadia" (S.A. Jewish Orphanage) since 1912. Member of Witwatersrand Jewish Aged Home since 1916. Active Free Mason since 1917, foundation member and Past Master of Equity Lodge, and past Provincial Grand Senior Warden. Past President, Dr. Herzl Lodge No. 1, H.O.D., 1920/21; was presented with Golden Badge after 55 years service. Member of Jewish Guild; Balfour Park; Old Fort Bowling Club.
