Hattenbach, Alan Adolph


HATTENBACH, Alan Adolph. Died 1964. Attorney and Sworn Translator. Born in Kassel, Germany, 16th April, 1912, son of Siegfried and Elsa Hattenbach. Arrived in South Africa in 1933. Educated at Wilhelms Gymnasium in Kassel and at the Universities of Heidelberg, Edinburgh, Berlin, Marburg and Göttingen. Chairman, Johannesburg S.P.C.A.; Joint President, S.A. Graphological Society: President, S.A. Society of Translators and Interpreters; member, Roseneath Govt. School Committee; Ex-Chairman, Council of Reef S.P.C.A.'s; ex-Vice-Chairman S.A. Federation of S.P.C.A. Formerly active member of Zionist Revisionist organisation. Served in Police Reserve and N.V.B. during Second World War. Married Olga de Aguiar, 1953; three daughters.
