Educated at Gymnasium, Goldingen and Ilford Grammar School, London. Director of Anglo African Trust Ltd., Tavistock Coal Mines Ltd., South Witbank Coal Mines Ltd., Greenlands Investment his brother, (Pty.) Ltd. Was co-founder with his David, of Kinemas Ltd., which pioneered talking films in South Africa. Director of African Consolidated Theatres and Films, Ltd.; Chairman and Joint Managing Director, General Chemical Corporation, Ltd.; was President of the Pietermaritzburg Hebrew Congregation in 1917, and a Council member of Johannesburg's United Hebrew Congregation, 1945-6. Married Marguerite Elsie Golding, 1921 (first wife died 1917); two sons, two daughters. Add.: 101, Berkeley Square, Killarney, P.O. Box 3910, Johannesburg.
