ESCHUR, Robert (Died 1965). Commissioner of Oaths, Director of Companies. Born in Lithuania 27th May, 1903, son of Zacharia and Sarah Eschur. Came to South Africa 1927. Educated in Lithuania and Germany. Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Transvaal Masonic Order, 1956-61; Past President, Brakpan Rotary Club; Held Chairmanship of Brakpan Zionist Society for 25 years. Chairman of the I.U.A. in Brakpan; Past Secretary, Brakpan United Hebrew Institutions. Treasurer for Red Cross in Brakpan during World War II. Staff Sergeant of Witwatersrand Rifles. Married Ruth Hillenberg, 1942; one son one daughter.
