Faiga, Seymour Simon


FAIGA, Seymour Simon. C.A. (S.A.). Chartered Accountant. Born Johannesburg 22nd April, 1922, son of Louis and Eva Faiga (father was joint founder with J. Distiller of the Hebrew Order of David). Educated at Parktown High School and University of the Witwatersrand. Secretary of the 15 companies in the Burlington Mills and Weil and Aschheim group of companies. Co-Founder of the Waverley Synagogue, Johannesburg (1958). Member, Hebrew Order of David; member, Dale Lace Bowling Club. Served with the South African Forces in World War II, including service in Middle East and Italy. Played table-tennis for Transvaal, while still at school, against Hungarians, Szabados and Kellen.
