FARBER, Abraham. Chartered Accountant (S.A.), Chartered
Secretary. Born Lithuania, 1904, son of Jacob and Rachel Farber. Came to South
Africa 1912. Educated at Technical College and Correspondence Colleges.
Formerly in private practice as accountant, auditor and company secretary.
South African Medal for War Services 1939-45. Member 1955-60 of the Special
Advisory Committee of the Master of the Supreme Court (Transvaal Provincial Division)
for the appointment of Trustees in Insolvent Estates, Financial Co-Ordinator,
Pretoria I.U.A. Campaign, 1948; Secretary Pretoria I.U.A 1950, 1952, 1953;
Treasurer, 1954-56. Treasurer Habonim Parent's Association, 1954-60: Committee member,
Pretoria Jewish Community Council 1956; Pretoria Zionist Council, 1962-1964.
Northern Maccabi Association, 1962-64. Member, Pretoria Bowling Club. Married
Sarah Taitz, 1933; one son. Recreation: Bowls. Add.: P.O. Box 2264, Pretoria.
