FINE, Toby. Ballerina. Born Cape Town 6th October, 1932, daughter of Issy and Paula Fine. Educated at Athlone High School, Johannesburg. Studied with the Royal Academy of Dancing (London), awarded its Advanced Honours Diploma and Solo Seal. Former soloist, New York City Ballet Company, and Prima Ballerina, Johannesburg Festival Ballet Company. Awarded the Adeline Genee Cup, 1949, for the best dancer of Southern Africa; won S.A. Ballet Open Championships 1946, 1947, 1948, 1949. Member of the Union of Jewish Women of S.A. Married David Bloomberg 24th February, 1957; one son, one daughter.
