Member of Parow Town Council since 1950; Deputy-Mayor, 1960-61. Foundation member, King David Country Club. President, Bellville Lions International Club. During World War II served with the U.D.F. in the Middle East and Italy, 1942-46. Married Dr. Alma Green, 1941; one son, one daughter. Recreations: Golf and philately. Collector of art and Africana.
