Board of Jewish Education, and Chairman, Institutions of Board of Education, 1938-1964. Founder and first Chairman, King David School, Trustee, Teachers' and Ministers' Pension Fund. Member of Country Communities Committee of S.A. Jewish Board of Deputies. Was Vice-President Witbank Hebrew Congregation. Was President of Witbank Zionist Society from 1926-34 and Chevra Kadisha. Appointed by the S.A. Board of Jewish Education a Hon. Life Vice-President for work accomplished by him for the Board. Married Kate Sless, 1934; two sons. Recreations: Reading, swimming.
