Organising Secretary of the Jewish Women's Benevolent Society 1925-36, and started various branches in Johannesburg suburbs. Founded the Women's Section of the S.A. Ort-Oze in 1937 and was its Chairman until 1948. Chairman of the Frieda Sichel Centre, 1957-60. Married Solly Furman, 1923; one son, two daughters.
