Educated at Pretoria Boys' High School and South of England College of Pharmacy. Managing Director of Chemists Medicine Depots (Jhb.) (Pty) Ltd., and Director of various other companies. Past Chairman and past secretary, Southern Transvaal Branch of Pharmaceutical Society of South Africa. Past Chairman and one of the founders of Oxford Synagogue, Johannesburg. Vice-President, United Hebrew Congregation. Council member, Federation of Synagogues. During World War II was member of National Volunteer Brigade, previously member of Police Reserve. Holds high offices in Masonic Lodges, also District Grand Lodge of the Transvaal. Member, Balfour Park Club and Houghton Club, Married Sara Roseman, 1936; one son, two daughters. Recreation: Bowls.
