BRONNER, Leila. B.A. (Hons.), M.A. (Hons.), Wits., Doctor of Literature, (Pretoria University), Teacher's Diploma, U.S.A. Lecturer in Hebrew at Witwatersrand University. Born Czechovakia 22nd April, 1930, daughter of Rabbi Isaac Amsel. Educated at Beth Jacob Seminar and Hunter College, New York, U.S.A. and University of the Witwatersrand, Came to South Africa 1951. President and Chairman of the South African Women's Mizrachi, 1962; President of the Yeshiva College, 1956-62; Chairman, Committee for Education, International Council of Jewish Women, 1961; Executive member, S.A. Zionist Federation, 1961; Executive member, Histadruth Ivrit, 1958; member of the National Council of the Union of Jewish Women of Southern Africa, 1962. Married Joseph Bronner 9th June, 1949; one son, two daughters. Add.: 50, St. David's Road, Houghton, Johannesburg.
