DAVIS, Joseph. Commissioner of Oaths (Transvaal. C.A.
(S.A.). Accountant and Auditor. Born in Hull, England, 3rd February, 1897, son
of Abe and Esther Davis. Came to South Africa 1912. Educated at Technical
College, Hull, and at Witwatersrand University. During World War I served
1916-17 with 2nd Mounted Brigade in East Africa. Appointed Justice of the Peace
(Ward Von Brandis), Johannesburg. Married Rae Greenberg, 1924; two sons, one
daughter. Recreations: Woodwork, photography, gardening. Add.: 102, Christina
