DODOWITZ (DODO), Pinkus. Director of Companies. Born Kolno, Poland, October, 1888, son of Jacob and Janie Dodowitz. Educated in London. Came to South Africa 1901. Managing Director of the Edworks Group of Companies, incorporating Edworks (1936) Ltd., Dodo Shoe Co. Ltd., Eddels Holdings Ltd., King Tanning Co. (Pty.) Ltd., R. E. Pashley & Co., Ltd., and Associated Companies. One of country's industrial and commercial pioneers. Long-standing member of Great Synagogue, Johannesburg. Well-known beneficiary to Jewish charities.
