Member, Native Advisory Board, Kroonstad; Foundation Director of the now dissolved Native Housing Association; past President of the Kroonstad Chamber of Commerce; member of the Interim Committee of Kroonstad Publicity Association; past President, Neth Masonic Lodge; Executive member, Kroonstad Road Safety Association. Was Hon. Treasurer, Bloemfontein Jewish Guild, 1917-18; Secretary, Bloemfontein Hebrew School, 1918-20. Committee member, Bloemfontein Congregation and Gemiles Gesodim Society. President, Hebrew Order of David, Lodge Israel (Bloemfontein) 1939- 40; President Dr. J. L. Landau Lodge (Kroonstad) 1947-48; Chairman, Kroonstad Zionist Society, 1942- 43.
