BERNSTEIN Adèle. Journalist and Secretary. Born Johannesburg, 21st September, 1924, daughter of Mannie and Jeannie Sherman. Educated at Parktown Girls' High School, Harvard College and the University of South Africa. Member of Staff, University of the Witwatersrand. Previously was first National Convener of the Adult Education Division of the Union of Jewish Women, and before that was a feature writer on the "S.A. Jewish Times" and other papers. Former Editor, "Amateur Photography". Worked as a Bookkeeper before entering journalism. Member, Temple Israel; Johannesburg Branch, Union of Jewish Women; Our Parents' Home.
