BERNSTEIN, Stanley. B.Sc. (Eng.) (Rand), Α.Μ.Ι.Ε.Ε., A.M.
(S.A.) I.E.E. Telecommunications Engineer. Born Johannesburg 20th May, 1921,
son of Nora and Nathan Bernstein. Educated at Pretoria Boys' High School and
University of the Witwatersrand. Stores Engineer in Chief Engineer's Office,
Department of Posts and Telegraphs. Has held various engineering posts with
G.P.O. Engineering Division in Cape Western, Natal and Transvaal. Member of
Hatfield School Committee; Chairman, Pretoria branch, Home and School Council.
Married Ruth Gordon 15th January, 1950; one son, two daughters. During World
War II served with Special Signals Services, S.A.C.S., as Radar Officer, and
attached to 26 and 35 Squadrons, S.A.A.F., as Squadron Radar Officer.
Recreations: Photography, wood handicrafts, swimming. Add.: 132 Amos Street,
Colbyn, Pretoria.
