Bradlow, Frank Rosslyn


BRADLOW, Frank Rosslyn. B.Com. (Wits.), A.C.I.S. Director of Companies. Born Johannesburg 19th June, 1913, son of David Adolph and Anne Rebecca Bradlow. Educated at King Edward VII School and University of the Witwatersrand. Director, Bradlows Stores Ltd. (Regional Director, Western Province.) Government appointed Trustee, South African Library. Member, Cape Committee of the South African Jewish Board of Deputies since 1946 (Vice-Chairman, 1956-57; Chairman, Public Relations Committee, since 1958); Chairman, Cape Town P.E.N. Club; Chairman, Friends of South Africa Library; Committee member, Owl Club and Cape Piscatorial Society; member, Cape Town Rotary Club and Clovelly Country Club. Co-author with Edna Bradlow (wife) of "Thomas Bowler of the Cape of Good Hope" (A. A. Balkema, Cape Town, 1955); "Here Comes the Alabama" (A. A. Balkema, Cape Town, 1955; "Baron von Ludwig and the Ludwigsburg Gardens" (A. A. Balkema, 'Cape Town, 1965). "Thomas Bowler, His Life and Works" (A. A. Balkema, 1967). Served with First Imperial Light Horse, East Africa and Libya, World War II. Married Edna Rom 14th November, 1945 two sons, one daughter. Recreations: Trout fishing, Africana collecting, writing.
