DE SAXE, Morris, B.A. (Cape), LL.B. (Witwatersrand), Advocate of the Supreme Court of South Africa (Transvaal Provincial Division). Born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1898. Came to South Africa in 1908. Grandson of the late Emanuel Mendelssohn, J.P. Educated at Marist Brothers College, Johannesburg, South African College, Cape Town, Universities Cape Town and Witwatersrand. 2nd Lieutenant, of Royal Engineers, Imperial Army during the war. Married in 1922 to Annie Kuper, of Johannesburg; has two children. Past Editor, University of Cape Town Quarterly; one of the Founders and first President, Students' Jewish Association, University of the Witwatersrand; Executive Member, South African Jewish Board of Deputies; Member of Council, United Hebrew Congregation; Hon. Assistant Secretary, South African Board of Jewish Education; Hon. Secretary, Witwatersrand Federation of Synagogues; ex-Executive Member, South African Zionist Federation and Johannesburg Jewish Guild: Member, Editorial Board of "Zionist Record"; Speaker, Johannesburg City Parliament: Editor, with I.
