Architect. Born Latvia 11th September, 1921, son of Harry and Rachel Vita Turok.
Came to South Africa 1934. Educated at Cape Town High School, Cape Technical
College, University of Cape Town and Columbia University, U.S.A. Principal,
Hillel Turok and Associates. Previously served with Voorees, Walker, Foley,
Smith and Smith, New York, and O'Connor and Kilham, New York. Chairman, Scopus
Club, Cape Town, 1950; delegate to Cape Jewish Board of Deputies, 1951-54;
Council member, Camps Bay Hebrew Congregation, 1954-56 and Secretary of the
Building Committee; Vice-Chairman, Cape Ort-Oze, 1963-64. During World War II
served in U.C.T. Brigade Engineering Corps and Anti-Aircraft Corps. Member,
Management Committee, Glen Country Club, 1961- 62; Vice-President, Cape Town
Art Centre, 1963-64. Married Bessie Anne Rom, 1949; two sons, one daughter.
