SHEER, Harry. Butcher. Born Ponevez, Lithuania, 31st May, 1901 son of Abraham David and Mary Ann Sheer. Educated in Ponevez, at Yewersky Uchilesty. Came to South Africa 1925. Director, Northmead Meat Bazaar (Pty.) Ltd., Rynfield Investments (Pty.) Ltd., Monay Mansions. Was Committee member of the Ponevez Society for 20 years. Member, Hebrew Order of David. Member of Ponevez Shul and Kensington Shul. Served in the Lithuanian Army, 1921-24. Married Faiga Dora Chaimowitz, 1925; two sons, two daughters.
