Committee Member of Arthur's Road Congregation, Sea Point, in 1958, in recognition of his services. For past 20 years has been a member of the Jewish Sick Relief Committee (Cape Town). Was Chairman of the Chabad Congregation, Cape Town, for fifteen years. Served in the Russian Army during the First World War. Married Sonia Schwartz, 1918; three sons. Recreation: Reading Hebrew.
