Educated at Highlands North High School, Johannesburg, and Witwatersrand University. Proprietor of L. T. Herdan & Co. Hon, Auditor for various societies and clubs, including: Klerksdorp Hebrew Congregation, since 1962; Union of Jewish Women, Klerksdorp Branch, since 1960. Treasurer, Leon Lewis Country Club. Member of Leon Lewis Country Club, Pretoria Motor Club, Ellaton Recreation Club. Married Bessie Debby Brodkin, 1963; one daughter, one son. Recreations: Table tennis, chess, squash, bridge.
