KARKLIN, Maurice Max. Director of Companies. Born Zelva, Lithuania, 12th June, 1904, son of Abram Jacob and Ester Karklin. Educated at High School and Yeshiva in Lithuania. Came to South Africa 29th September, 1929. Director of Riel In- vestment (Pty.) Ltd., Elrit Investment (Pty.) Ltd., and Belavista Investment (Pty.) Ltd. Previously Director of East Rand Bazaars (Pty.) Ltd., and New York Stores. Member of the Committee of South-Eastern Hebrew Congregation and Southern Suburbs I.U.A. Committee. Member of the Reading Country Club. Served in Police Reserve and National Volunteer Brigade during World War II. Married Fruma Baron 4th February, 1936; two daughters. Recreation: Bowls.
